In case you missed the story, here's a link to some Old Farts, including your Pictureman, who get together annually and share anecdotes proving once again that truth is indeed stranger than fiction. And, once again, the legendary Good Time Who Was Had By All, Squirelly Shirley, failed to show up. www.chattanoogan.com/articles/article_164999.asp

The key word there is Veteran, (from Latin vetus, meaning "old").

Gary: this was their 20th Annual Christmas Luncheon, but I just now discovered them. I'm sure next year they'll be more carefull... Misty: Old is Good. There is only one alternative to growing older. Here's the link: www.chattanoogan.com/obituaries/home.asp

Isn't Radio just southwest of Guam?

Well, I have been behind a mic since 1987... does that make me "old" enough?

I have been behind a mic since 1982, but not in the same professional sense.

I know what you mean. My girlfriend occasionally wears handcuffs, but not in the same professional sense...
And, right now it would appear that radio is just southwest of the Unemployment Office.

Or at least stop wearing the eyeliner.
And I notices... Bill Hullander is in one of the pictures..... Since the event took place at the Wally's in East Ridge... Where is Curtis Adams? He would never turn down an opportunity to have his picture made with so many television and radio people!

Bill was a guest of Earl Freudenberg, and works with Earl on his Sunday Morning program on WDYN (I think). Also missing are Manny Rico, who never met a camera that he didn't like, and Marti Rutherford, who thinks she represents this district. If you're interested and can stand the excitement (!) here are links to some video produced from the luncheon: www.youtube.com/watch?v=My9ssApBDQcwww.youtube.com/watch?v=c7yamyiijL0www.youtube.com/watch?v=YhEolo--o4wwww.youtube.com/watch?v=eU6NvU2nOt4I actually started behind the microphone in 1968, then got into sales. Apparently, not near as much fun as it used to be, but "on-air" is where it's at in Radio. Otherwise, might as well be working for (Heaven forbid) an insurance company, or something.
