I would like if there a way to obtain a direct tv access card locally? Mine died after a big long lifespan of two months. Direct tv customer service has not really been helpful, at all and are giving me the run around. Now I can see why at&t entered into a partnership with direct tv, because both organizations have awful customer service.

I have had excellent customer service the times I have had to talk to DirecTV over the years. They do not off shore their call centers and the times I have called them I have got their Huntsville center. I called in September to drop Showtime and HBO without having to re-sign a contract and it was no problem... then we spent a minute talking Alabama/Tennessee football. What is the problem with the 'card'? If its only been two months, why won't they roll a truck? My dishes are on one side of my deck and I wanted them moved to the other... I called and they did.... no charge and no BS. If you try to activate a box you bought from someone they will not activate the old card but will overnight you a new card... I did that with an RV TV box and a used DirecTiVo box. No problem at all. Any card you 'obtain' will be worthless.... you have to get it from them to activate.

I've been with DirecTV for about 7 years and have had nothing but great experiences with them. I've rarely needed customer service, but when I have, they have been wonderful. My old box that I've had since the beginning died recently, and they were there the next day to replace and upgrade.
