Has cost cutting gotten the best of Toyota? Is the brand irreparably damaged? Or is this just something that any car company is going to find itself in eventually?

Boy, Toyota's sales are way off right now - I sure hope our ole buddy Joe Prebul doesn't lose his new job...

Okay, I'll give Toyota this on the sales being way off, they took half their models off the menu so that, in itself, is going to throw sales way off. Let's see how their sales are when those models go back on sale.

Best thing all this trouble with Toyota could do is to throw a little money back at "OBAMA MOTORS" MMM MMM MMM. Maybe Obama could then pay back the American people (you and me) the money that he stole from us to buy a car company that he had no business buying, and to turn his attention back to being friends with terrorists (William Ayers) and Communists (Chavez and Sean (booger eater) Penn).

Sunday, Feb. 7, 2010 Signs ignored in problems with Toyotas
The Associated Press WASHINGTON -- When Peter Boddeart's Lexus lurched forward and rear-ended another vehicle in Fauquier County, Va., earning him a police citation, he wrote to federal regulators imploring them to look into his case "before someone ends up seriously injured or killed." That was in 2003. The years since have seen hundreds of drivers' complaints about unwanted acceleration of their Toyotas, six inconclusive federal investigations, multiple reports of deaths and repeated denials from the automaker that it had a major problem on its hands. That's just the sort of bureaucratic inertia Barack Obama pointedly criticized as a presidential candidate. Yet his administration was without a federal highway safety chief for most of its first year and, like the Bush administration before it, missed signals in the Toyota case.
