The "irregardless" contingent probably heard "irrespective" and just got too confooozed.
And, with regard to redneck grammar, always remember to say "Pass them grits," because everyone knows there's no such thing as one grit.

Watching Shepard Smith on FOX News...I notice that Shep (who wears just a littttle too much eyeliner, IMHO) reads a lot of news stories, none of which have verbs in their first lines.
