At my kids schools there are signs everywhere saying it is a crime to possess tobacco, weapons (pocket knife), or alchohol on school grounds. It does not say anything about being an adult or a minor, just that it's a misdomeanor of some sort.

I would imagine a private school can do or teach whatever they want

Jeez...I attended parochial school way back in the days and the nuns had us kids set up the roulette wheel and roll in the beer kegs every Friday afternoon to get ready for Casino night...just sayin!

And if you didn't do it, or refused, they would smack your hand with a ruler or make you kneel in broken glass.

i have never been able to understand the need to consume alcohol in order to have a good time. that stuff is the devil, and nothing good ever comes from a night of drinking.

That's why I do most of my drinking in the daytime, well, probably 50/50.

The Irish Ball is a fund raiser for the school to update facilities. It is not a party for the kiddies.

I can have a great time without drinking. But I am sure, somewhere in the world, something good did happen after a night of drinking which disproves your hypothesis. In fact, I met my ex-wife after a night of drinking.....Wait, nevermind, that's beside the point and maybe not a good example, but I am not the issue here. Look, a squirrel!

.... and nothing good ever comes from a night of drinking. Im sure if it wasn't for a night of drinking, some of us might not have been born.... oh wait, bad example....

that is my outlook on drinking growing up with an alcoholic for a father. it makes you see the evil side of this. losing a grandparent to a drunk driver when i was 6 hasnt helped any either.
the irony about the man who killed my grandfather was how he died years later. kharma is a bitch. he was killed by a drunk driver as well.

I met my current husband of 23 years in a bar...the way all red-blooded Americans met people in the 80s!
And the nuns who educated ME made you say the stations of the Cross in church during recess when you misbehaved....I haven't been to Mass in 20 years but I can still recite the stations of the Cross....
