I'm working on setting up a photo safari. The last one was fun there were pro shooters and beginners and all had a great time.
I'm thinking Coolidge park area from 30 minutes before sunset and lasting a couple of hours. We will focus mostly on long exposures. Painting with light, "live cloning" and more. There will be several pro photographers there to help and I'll ask some models if they want to come.
(Almost any camera can work, a tripod is a big help.. Don't let your camera keep you from joining, we'll figure a way to make it work.)
How does near the end of March, early April sound?

It just so happens I was talking to someone last night looking for a photo safari. I'll let her know. I may have to tag along myself, my camera is a bit dusty.

For someone that's never done this, what will entail?
Flashes, tripods, billyclubs for beating off dead vagabonds, etc?

I expect there will be enough of us that we won't be bothered.
If you have any of the following, bring it. If you don't, come anyway.
Tripod - or sandbag. something to hold the camera for you.
a remote shutter release is good
a BRIGHT flashlight to do light painting (a little one to help you see in the dark is good too)
if you have multiple lens (lenses?) bring wide and fast.

Billyclubs are not required if the vagabonds are already dead.
They're required only for dead forum horses.

OK Tomorrow (Wed 3/31) Coolidge park, under the market st bridge around 6:30.
We will have an hour or so to shoot sunset then we'll shoot the skyline and do some light painting.
Bring your camera, bring a tripod if you have one. If not bring a sand bag or something you can use to "hold" your camera
