I wonder if they'll have free weenies at tonight's Red Bank City Commission meeting (Tuesday, 03/02/2010, 7 pm).

I'm with LR, as far as I know the Councilmen are just as free as any American.

Tonight’s city commission meeting was the most intense I’ve ever attended! It was as though I hadn’t taken a single one of those six Bean-o capsules. On the other hand, the Dulcolax worked spectacularly - far better than I could possibly have imagined. I don’t think anybody noticed me breaking out in a sweat, though.
That aside, the meeting was *yawn* routine, starting at 7:08 mostly because his Mayorness was jawboning with someone. It was over at 7:52.
In between, they talked about the public hearing to be held in two weeks (on the 16th) at the community center behind Erlanger North and the swimming pool to get public input on the transfer of some land to Hamilton County as regards the new Red Bank middle school. There was a motion to approve agenda item 10-760 concerning the land transfer. I wonder when the commissioners will learn to say “I move” rather than “I make a motion”.
Oops. I almost left out the beer board meeting. The person who had submitted the application wasn’t available because of ill health, so they postponed the meeting until the 16th.
Another agenda item concerned some sewer rehabilitation to deal with an overflow situation not far from city hall. (I can identify.) Red Bank taxpayers won’t have to pay any money because of a Community Development Block Grant. Kudos to those who drilled through the paperwork to accomplish that goal.
On the other hand, we taxpayers will foot the bill for two new garbage trucks at close to a quarter of a million bucks ($232k). There goes my allowance for next week.
So much for that.
I decided to take another shot at finding the Red Rock Grill. It is on Dayton Boulevard, immediately south of the Waffle House, almost across the street (Dayton Boulevard) from Blockbuster.
Daryl, the cook, did a great job on my Cajun chicken salad. Not only was it very tasty, but he laid out the salad to look appealing as well. It wasn’t just dumped onto a plate. And he was smart enough to provide my salad dressing in a separate bowl. I’d call the place a bar & grill, but that’s not in the name. The manager (?) said they could entertain sixty-eight people. I’d have put the count at more like forty. Parking would probably be an issue with that many patrons. Mr. Manager told me they have a great $3.99 lunch special. I was pleased with the menu, so I plan to go back.
Take all that I say with a grain of salt because I may not hear details as well as other people even though they did get the P.A. system working much, much better. They still need a wind screen on the microphone that they use for “Citizens’ Comments”. I wonder what happened to the one I gave them. Odd.
Oh, there were no free weenies tonight. I can always hope.

Thanks for the report, Yoda. I know everyone missed me, but I was watching LOST.
