Broadway • Knoxville, TN 37918 (865) 219-0130 • FAX (865) 219-0137 • etstactn@aol.com • www.disoveret.org/ettacDate: February 26, 2010 To: Community Calendar From: Louise McKown---Public Awareness Coordinator Re: Literacy training for children with disabilities Thursday, March 25, 2010 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., the East Tennessee Technology Access Center will hold a literacy workshop called “Tying the Tools Altogether: Using the Learning About Freedom Curriculum.” Learning About Freedom is a curriculum developed by ETTAC to teach students about disability rights and freedoms, as well as influential people involved in the disability rights movement. During this workshop, software and hardware tools will be demonstrated as they relate to providing access to the curriculum for students with disabilities. Participants will receive a copy of the Learning About Freedom curriculum with files and training materials for future use. The workshop will be held at ETTAC’s Knoxville office at 4918 N. Broadway. There is no charge for this workshop but pre-registration is required, as space is limited. Please call ETTAC at (865) 219-0130 to sign up by March 22.
