This weekend I was washing windows. (our house is on the market - otherwise it wouldn't be something that is done that often). Just getting underway, I get a phone call. I never seem to be able to accomplish anything without getting interupted. Struggling to get it out of my shorts pocket I dropped in in my bucket of hot water! I immediately scooped it out and to my surprise it answered... but I couldn't hear anything, and shortly after that the keyboard didn't work. My new Blackberry died right there in my hands. With no expertise in cell phone cpr, I did the only thing I could think of, I shook it vigorously to get the water out... but it was lifeless. Dead at the young age of 6 months.
Long story short... my wife read on the web to stick the whole thing in a bowl of rice. Like putting rice in salt shakers, it draws the moisture out... and 24 hours later, I put the battery back on it and fired it up. Sure enough, it powered up and after a long period of the hour glass doing it's thing... it worked!!! Back from the dead!!
I'm never washing windows again.
