Anyone looking for some quiet time to read on a "school night" or two? Willing to go to Chickamauga for it?
I need a "barn buddy." Because I work during the day I can't go work my horse during the hours someone is there. Barn rule is, I can't ride if there's not a person there that can dial 911 in an emergency, so I'm looking for a volunteer that likes the idea of hanging out under a nice gazebo for an hour or two one or two evenings during the week.
No need to interact with horses required. Heck, conversation isn't required. Bring a book, homework, papers to grade, whatever...

I dont' know Vickie. The problem is, I need to work this horse in the ring for a while and don't have transport to take him to someone elses barn to do it (nor do I fully own him, so I'd not be allowed to anyway), hence just needing someone that could use the down-time reading or knitting or whatever while I do that at the barn he resides in.
Though, a future ride buddy is a welcome thing for when I can start taking him to the Battlefield for some trail time. Especially someone able to help me get him there:D

Chickamauga's not too far from the house.
What time and how accessible is the place?

Turns out we had a miscommunication. She thought I'd be there when no one is home at all. I'm good to go:-D
Strickj, it's over near Old Bethel. Not sure how accessible it would be, depending on mud depth. It wasn't designed with chair access in mind.

Upon further thought, Strickj do you have wheels for gravel and maybe a little mud?

Depends on the mud. If it's deep or contains horse poo, I'm out.
Otherwise, I've not come across an area I couldn't make it through. Biggest thing is any obstacles like logs, ditches, steep slippery hills, etc.

It's a horse farm. Horse droppings are going to be around. We try to clean them up, but there's always the possibility of poo.

I could handle a lil poo, as long as those other things don't get in the way.
