This morning at 11a the annual memorial service will be held for area law enforcement officers of all branches of police work. The observation will be held in downtown Chattanooga at 600 Market Street, the site of the sculpture dedicated to fallen officers. Many surviving family members have been located and invited for this year's service. Hope you can make it. In the meantime, here's a most interesting story about how some local officers have ended their watch: www.odmp.org/officer/20054-sheriff-george-washington-(wash)-coppinger

It was a nice ceremony. Many family members of fallen officers were in attendance, and stood when their loved one's name was read aloud. I was a bit surprised by how far back in years that fallen officers had family representation. Very cool.
