Hello all. I like the new forum.
I live in Birmingham now and my boss has a very nice picture of dowtown Birmingham circa 1925 in his office. This got me thinking, do any of you know where I might locate some old pictures of downtown Chattanooga or Chattanooga in general from back in the day or even the civil war?
If you know of the name of a store in Chattanooga let me know or some place on line, that would be great.
I thought it would be great art work for my home and office since Chattanooga is where I was born and lived for most of my life (I am only 29 but lived there up until I went to Alabama for college).
Any suggestions would be great and thanks. ;D

You might also contact the Chattanooga Regional History Museum and see if they have any prints for sale. www.chattanoogahistory.com

Check out our local library's database of pictures. The pictures go back to the mid 1800's. You can order prints. I have had so much fun searching through these pictures. I even found a picture of my grandparent's motel taken in 1950's. www.lib.chattanooga.gov/localHist/photodatabase.html

Don't forget the national archives...they've got some pretty old shots there which can be downloaded in a massive format and printed up at your local kinko's.
