Who is yours and if you have a reason, what is it?

David Carroll, indeed! One classy guy. As a former Radio announcer, David can "go with the flow" when the TelePromter acts up or he just needs to ad lib a line or two. Teevee people, generally speaking, have no idea how to talk and think at the same time; got to be scripted.
Weatherperson has to be that Allison Chinchar on channel 9. There's something about her I like, I just can't put my hands on it...

I enjoy Calvin Sneed because he is a constant reminder of the comedy that is local news. "Can you get sick eating Chinese food? Find out at 11"

I'm a big fan of Aly, (ROCK 105) but only because I like her music better than what Lila plays.
Lila is still "THE BEST" but ALY plays music i like better....
If I had to choose, Lila (107.9 the Duke) would be my choice but thats just because she ROCKS (and that "is a friend" thing)

I have to also add Billy Black (Rock 105) is one hell of a broadcaster. The man can control a situation regardless how messed up. And he "Maintains his cool" even if it seems nobody is watching...

Don Welch. I had the worst crush on that man back in the days when anchor men were supposed to be clean shaven. There was a campaign going on to let Don keep his beard. I believe I am the only person who remembers him wearing a fan made t-shirt with a picture of a male lion captioned "Keep the Fuzz, Don." When I told Mr. Welch about remembering that... it took him a moment, then he squinted painfully and asked "Were you watching from the CRADLE?"

there are so many.........
Neal for weather David Carroll for being just one hell of a guy. i remember him back in the infancy of KZ106 Cindy Sexton, Bob Johnson, Luther, Wally from talkradio, Frank off swapshop, Bearman and Ken on US101 and Dexter as well.
i still cant believe that news channel 9 screwed Neal the way they did. yes, he made a huge mistake, but he came clean about it and it is behind him now.
Calvin Sneed is great too, as he just does not care who he pisses off with his investigations.
i can't stomach Jed Mescons pronunciation. he is as bad as Tom Brokaw.

Local Television news is pretty bad. really always has been.
David Carroll is the best by far. understands all aspects of broadcasting.
weather? It's Chattanooga, TN. there are only about 10 - 20 times a year that you really need a detailed forecast. the rest you can guess at.
so as long as you can read. you can be a weather man or girl.

Renee LaSalle (Just like watching her read the news) for anchor. Amy Katcher for weather (Who couldn't like her). Darrell Patterson for sports (Can make a 1-0 baseball game seem interesting). Favorite reporter Tanya Mendis (She really get's into the story).

John Mercer surprised he's still stuck in what the 106th market. Always like Mike Dunne he had big market talent.

John Mercer's ex-wife and daughters live here, so he isn't going anywhere, which is of great benefit to WDEF.

Done. I think this is truly a wonderful honor that should be bestowed upon Mr. Masingill. And thank you Yoda for bringing it to our attention!
Almost wish it had its own thread so it doesn't get *lost* in this one.
