From the Sunday TFP - Page B6 - "On Wednesday, the Hamilton County Commission approved several items, including: ...
Purchase of 67 televisions and wall mounts for East Ridge Elementary for $22,727.
..."
I had to look - according to the HCDE website, East Ridge Elementary has 309 students.
That's 1 TV for every 5 students!.
Now I know why we need to increase the HCDE budget - they are barely getting by. 5 students need to share a TV! Certainly we can afford to provide our children the tools they need for learning. A chicken in every pot and a TV for every child!

Or for 40 acres and an ass you could visit the Police Blotter and read a Duke post.
For free and no taxpayer money involved.

In all fairness, I'm sure those TV's are for the NEW East Ridge Elementary school, which combines both East Ridge and McBrian.

If it is for the NEW East Ridge Elementary school, that makes so much more sense since there are 205 students at McBrian. That would be a total of 514 students using the 67 TVs. A ratio of one TV for every 8 students seems much more logical. I guess they will probably only have a maximum class size of 10 students since they obviously have a large number of classrooms for their student population.
