There may well have been greed involved, but the question is not, nor should it be, do we drill for oil or do we not. We MUST, for the foreseeable future, have access to oil. You can argue all day about what sort of oversight has to be done, and whether lack thereof led to shortcuts, but we cannot and will not just stop drilling for oil, and we must do so where the oil is, and if that's out in the middle of the ocean, so be it.

In a sense I agree. However most accounts of the amount of oil we can drill for in the US is about a years supply. Drill baby drill but make sure the oil companies know how to cap and clean up the spill which BP had no plan for.
