Good to hear, Gary. Need to know soon when it is though, as Julia and I are taking the kids to Gatlinburg for a weekend in mid-August, and I need to be able to plan to make this (if I can).

I was hoping the summer would slip by, but IF there is a cookout, I assure you it won't be while the City competes with itself for the hottest summer on record.
Seriously, it's like living on the Sun these days and we'd be miserable. August-ish is the tentative goal, IF any.
We wouldn't be shooting for attendence records either... Just a 'we'll be here if you want to show up' kind of deal.

Yoda summed it up well. It's the annual summer picnic hosted by Longshot and myself on an 86-acre piece of private property on Elder Mountain. Grilling, drinking, swimming, shooting, hiking, playing of guitars, even fishing if one is so inclined. Children are welcome (the shooting range is well away from the picnic areas), though they may get tossed in the lake if they prove too obnoxious. Same goes for the adults.  'Shot brings the grill and some meat, cheese, buns, that sort of thing, while the rest is left up to the attendees. If you can't bring anything, cash donations are always welcome (though 'Shot will try to be all magnanimous and humble so you often have to shove the money down his pants). No date set (yet) but it's generally held between mid-July and mid-August. |

I have a membership at the place where Shotfest was held last year. If we have it at the same place I plan on camping there. I know some others here like to camp so if you would like to join me you are more then welcome.

*ahem* Now that I'm trying to get that image out of my head.......
My main reason for asking, Oh Great One (that would be Longshot!, none others need apply) is that, mainly because of my work... well, I can't really say "schedule", but it comes fairly close I guess... Shotfest is our only chance to see our friends from the board (and sometimes make new ones) and it's one of the very few events that are "family friendly" and that allow extremely young chilluns.
If it happens, it happens. If not, then not. I just need a decent lead time so that I can attempt to plan to be there (although with the way planning as gone for us of late, I don't know that it will do any good).

Bad news....
Given your costume design prowess, I assumed that with all the many private fitting & measurement sessions already behind us, the customized thong was a done deal. Guess we need more ....
Actually, the T-shirt & the Swiss-made water bottle (read: flask) were the cetral things I covet although party favor pantie-rose fashoined thongs, awarded to the right people in the right state of mind at the right place with the right desire to model a gift during Shot-Fest might be in Kodax's ultimate self-interest....

I was checking to see if there was a plan for this event!! glad to see I have not missed it.. I have been a bit out of touch lately. I would camp too.. as long as Jewel shares her tent... and I can get off work... I really need a new job.
