Just got back from the dentist where I learned that the pain I was feeling was because a filling split and a deep cavity formed underneath. So, I get the have the thrill and enjoyment of having a root canal next Wednesday morning. Oh, it gets better. All four of my wisdom teeth need to come out as well. It seems, and this is coming from a trained professional, that my mouth is too small for all my teeth. Yep, it's official - I have a small mouth. So there! Ha!

Good luck sweetie!
I hope your dentist is as good as mine! Dr. Brogdon in Red Bank is AWESOME! Jeff had to have a root canal done there. He didn't feel a thing! No different than getting a normal filling. Just took longer. Luckily, the olden days of dental torture are long gone! Thank heaven!
BTW - if you are a dental phobic - Doc Brogden is the way to go! Tell him Susan from Beauty & the Beast sent you. The whole office will understand. I'm the one who had a full blown panic attack in the chair, fully numbed up and gassed. I made it through the proceedure and even went back to have MORE problems fixed. He and his staff are all just Jewels! If you're scared, they will be gladly gas you to a very nice, happy place and give you good drugs for 'afters'. No need to be afraid.
(Yes, he's expencive. But worth every penny!)

My dentist has gas and other means of keeping me calm. Though the big mallet behind the door has me a bit worried....

If Gary's mouth required so much work it stopped him from talking, he'd explode!

Ah memories of Dr. Szell asking "is it safe" !
Anyone who says they had a root canal and didn't feel a thing has no nerve endings in their head. Root canals hurt, period. Good luck and drink heavily after the procedure and in about two days you should be back to normal. Trust me on this.
