I just squished a giant cockroach. You now, the kind that could borrow my shoes and go out on the town. I hate them. I've been tempted to chase after them with a sword like Londo Molari (only, without the funky hair crest and accent) because my GODS they are disgusting.
So I took a quick look at the Orkin website and it looks like they want a year contract for pest control services. I wanna know if anyone here gets pest control service and who they use. Who would you recommend? Who is reasonably priced without needing a one year contract since I can't guarantee I'll stay in one place that long? Help me make this the last nasty bug I have to squish in my cute little garage apartment, cuz I don't want to barf on the floor on top of bug guts (and I doubt the proprietors would appreciate sword marks on the floor, let alone bullet holes).

Do it yourself.
All you need is a garden sprayer,a gallon of bug spray, and 10 minutes.

I use and recommend Terminix...but I believe they require a contract. Ask the landlord to get the contract and agree to pay for the months you live there...helps both of you out.

Hey, that's a good idea LR. I'll talk to them.
Strickj, I don't want to have to try to remember yet another thing to do. I'm forgetful enough.

ROFLMAO! If you ever do remake that scene I want a video of it. And I think the funky hair crest would possibly be one of the more conservative hairstyles you have worn.

We use Jody Millard and highly recommend them. Along the same lines, a small owner/operator is probably your best bet, and they do better work as well.

Cockroaches hate baby powder; it's roughly akin to us walking over broken glass.
Boric acid, powder or liquid, is the standard remedy for roaches.

I use Cooke's, but I wouldn't recommend them. I don't blame you; they probably treat relatively few pigpens for human habitation.

"Strickj, I don't want to have to try to remember yet another thing to do. I'm forgetful enough. " Same here. I'm funny about having people in my home, though, which is why I learned to do it myself
