It's so hot that fish are dying at the fountain at Chattanooga State.
A tip came into the newsroom today about the dead fish.
The Dean of Nursing and Allied Health told Eyewitness News there's no way to prevent it.
The fish are in a small, shallow body of water and the surface temperature is hot.
With the extreme heat this summer, oxygen is depleted from the pond. And after Monday's storms, hot water from the surrounding pavement poured in.
Tuesday crews were out removing all the dead fish, and the fountains were activated to restore oxygen to the water.
