So, is it true? Did the Times Free Press really bounce The Purple Lady from the Senior Expo VIP Party? After she got an invite from a sponsor?

Um...do these young people not know who she is? As a "professional courtesy" if nothing else, let the Old Girl in! Interesting...

Here's what I think happened:
As I understand, and I could be wrong, Mrs. Young was given Reserved Seat Tickets in the VIP Section for Betty White's appearance on Stage. Mrs. Young thought that being a VIP, she could crash the Meet & Greet Event for Local Sponsors, that was done prior to the event and is almost always done prior to any Celebrity appearance, and get Betty White to sign pictures and/or have some pictures made with animals from McKamey, that she could later Auction off to raise money for McKamey. Unfortunately McKamey Animal Center did not have a financial interest in Betty White being in Chattanooga but wanted to perhaps take advantage of that fact without paying and get her to help raise some money for their own cause. I believe there may have been some discussion in advance between the parties involved and McKamey was discouraged form this mode of fundraising and using the TFP's event without being a paid Sponsor like many others.

Ahhh... If so, that would explain it. The peeps who PAY to be sponsors get really pissy when someone else wants to wrangle a free ride on their dime.

And, rightly so, ScarlettP.
mrevents, I'll bet that's exactly what happened. Proves once again that there are at least two sides to every story.
