Everyone has a keyboard, most everyone has a mouse. what do you use the most to navigate the web and what while in the program you use most. (just curious)
I have a multi function keyboard, mouse, trackball, and graphics tablet.
I navigate the web almost only with the track ball (finger not thumb) and I use the tablet and keyboard in photoshop my most used program.

Just a plain ol' mouse. I had a wireless one for a few months that ate batteries. Never again. There's also a laptop in the house, but it's only for one specific function, and the "mouse" feature is a pain. Glad I don't have to use it often.

Wireless mouse. As mentioned, it eats batteries and has the worst habit of dieing in the middle of a computer game when it is sorely needed! I can't go back to the other kind. The computer tower HAS to sit on the left and the mouse goes on the right. When I had a wired mouse, it was difficult to find one with a long enough wire, and then the darned wire was always getting tangled in the back of the computer or lapping over the keyboard in the front. Just didn't work at all. So I keep a stock pile of double A's in the drawer.

I also use a plain ole mouse. I do not like working the laptop mouse. Its a pain, probally cause I am used to the 'plain ole mouse' on the laptop I get so confused how to cut & paste it drives me batty!

Optical mouse with a tail. Yes extension cords are available for both the PS2 or USB tails as well as Keyboard and monitor.
I tuck the tail under the monitor leaving about 6-8 inches between mouse and anchor. No binding because the excess tail went over the edge of the desk. No excess tail to tangle with anything else.

There's also a laptop in the house, but it's only for one specific function Gotta ask... Whats' the one, specific function? Nothing exotic. We're setting up a phone tree for our neighborhood association, so I'm inputting names & numbers and then we'll see if it works. Our whole phone setup was badly in need of an overhaul, so it was a good excuse...

MsMinx, I use gen two of that logitech trackman (the first with the scroll wheel, still PS/2 but I use a USB to PS/2 converter at work since my machine doesn't have PS/2 ports), and love it. I don't like the newer ones as much because they are taller, the older lower ones fit my hand much better. I especially like the thumb control much more than the finger type. My laptops all have trackpads, some with and some without scroll regions, and that's fine for laptop use, but I do have a bluetooth mouse for my netbook that I use on trips if I'm going to be using it for more than a few minutes. Right now, my home PC has a horrid USB backlight keyboard. Don't know what I was thinking. At work, I usually use a PS/2 style keyboard that originally came with a Dell 286. Yes, a 286 (they kept making them up until their first 486 models). We used to have about 15 at the office, and as they were replace, I quietly hoarded them all. I poured coffee in the last one and need to rebuild it from the spare parts hoard. It had the great hard plunge feel of the old IBM keyboards, but without the annoying as all getout clack. I hate that clack. I drum my nails above the arrow keys. I'm about halfway through the plastic now.

Microsoft IntelliMouse Optical PS2/USB Mouse with 5 buttons Bought a extra case of these when they were discontinued. Love my extra mouse buttons. And they are a bit larger than average mice which is more comfortable for me. And I still hate trackballs. (I also have one hooked to my Amiga and c128 thru an adapter.Much better than the old ball mice.) Later, dabone

I don't like the newer ones.. the skinny ones don't seem to have much in way of control. The one you showed is one that I used alot several years ago and they quit making them for the one I have. I loved how it was but this one in itself will do nicely.

I use a Logitech Trackman Marble. I find it much easier to use, due the large amount of CAD work I do. I haven't been able to train myself to use the touchpad thing on the laptop when drawing.
Looks a lot like the one Joedog uses, but a couple of extra programmable buttons. I had to get this new one and load the software after the one I was using (The one Worm pictured) quit on me after years of use. I got my money's worth, for sure.

I use a PC for work and a Mac at home-use a cordless mouse for both (Magic Mouse for the Mac but WOW does that thing eat up batteries!) On the PC I mainly use the keyboard and tab between fields
