I may just attend. I have some 'maters that will be prime for heaving about then.

I encourage all Red Bank residents and onlookers to attend. Invitations were just sent out to the candidates/commissioners and already the conspiracy theory mill is running off its hub. Two unnamed sitting commissioners cannot/will not confirm that they will attend.

Several candidates want mo bettuh codes enforcement to help deal with absentee landlords, and several candidates mentioned bringing the city's ordinances up to date.
I personally believe that would help a great deal. As a business person who has tried to deal with Red Bank - a HUGE part of the problem with all those empty store fronts is the fact that the owners are NOT here. If you WANT to rent a store front in Red Bank, you have to hire an investigator to FIND the landlord to ask questions. Forget about touring the property. The owners are not just out of town, they are out of state and don't give a hoot about those buildings. So, they stand empty and falling apart because if any one DID want to use the space, they can't get any information.
What's worse than not being able to find the landlord? None of the owners want to SELL the properties to those of us who DO live and work here but don't want to pay rent.

Oh, I take that back. I did find one Realtor who was showing property. They wanted over $250K for the old steak house with the torn up parking lot, trees growing through the side walks, broken toilets, ruined tile in the kitchen and a HOLE in the roof that looked like someone fell through. Yeah. That was a good building.
I hear they are building a new Jr. High. Wonder if they would sell me the old one?
(No, I don't have THAT much money! But if they give me a good deal, I might think about it.)
