It costs me about $50 to make the round trip from Atlanta to Chattanooga. I think if they could get me there and back for $75 with my bicycle I would most likely take advantage of the train on a regular basis.

As long as it is self supporting and not a drain on the tax payers then I think it would be a great service.

The high speed train will never happen. Even if they run it on the I75 right of way and don't have to buy much property. The problem is where will it stop? There are too many powerful people that have strong interests in it stopping near their holdings.
That's the way I heard it from someone that was close to it several years ago.
