Do any of you get a big message saying there is a required "test" and to press "exit" to continue?
there is no EXIT on my remote, and having a big box pop up in the middle of a program is not acceptable.
when I change channels, the big box stays, its not the network

The message comes up and stays for about 30 seconds has appeared about 20 times now.
"a broadcast station or cable system has issued a *** required Weekly Test *** "
I think the "exit to" button i just found on my remote works but why??

Seems to always happen on Sunday. When the loud tone is associated with it (Typically the first time), it gives me a heart attack. Then usually within a minute, it displays again (Without the tone). After I press "Exit to TV", it goes away for another week. So far, this is the only thing I haven't liked with their TV.

I haven't noticed its on Sunday, but if that's the case I guess Sunday will have to be "watch DVD movies night" [grin]

Just found reason #1 to dog cuss them. You CANNOT record an OnDemand show to DVD. It sends error message to my DVD recorder saying "This program not allowed to be recorded". I even tried to start the recorder and record all the prompts to the show. When the show starts the show it pops up the message.
I guess I wont have a personal set of The Walking Dead.

you also cant have more than 4 TVs on at once, or be recording/watching more than 4 shows. But they tell me this will change in December~
Also, their music channels suck. I used to play Comcast's "light classical" channel at night, but EPB's classical channel is anything but. So I just play my IPod on repeat at night-minor complaints about otherwise fabulous service!

They do it way more than once a week. I've started keeping a record of them when I see it, and so far I have 11/7/2010 @9:22PM, and 11/10/2010 @11:59PM. (once a week, my foot)
Our remote never would shut it off, so they came out here and replaced it. Bob - the exit button is on the left side of remote about in the middle... it's called "exit to". It's frustrating, but we're finally able to shut the dern thing off!

On the left hand side of the remote in the center is a button that reads "Exit to TV" (or something similar) - that's the exit button they are referring to.

Still sucks I have to stop what I'm doing and dig the remote out from under the pile of crap to push a button in the middle of a show.. No TV on Sunday for me [grin]

That could be a killer for my homebrew DVR. I can't be having the STB throwing up menus on its own. There's no way the computer could know its there. What happens if you just press that Exit button while a show is playing? Think I could use my IR transmitter (needed to change the channels) to simply pre-pend an Exit keypress before every channel change?
