The performances were great. The acoustics at the venue were awful.
Before we entered, there were people on the sidewalk protesting the show, handing out flyers to try to save the attendees' souls. Sad.

"Who is he calling a "poof"?"
It is heartening to see that somebody still uses their grey matter.

Elton was great.. I could have lived without Leon Russel.. and the acoustics really do suck.. and the protesters were just embarrassing for Chattanooga...

LR ... exercising your constitutional rights can still be embarrassing. The two aren't mutually exclusive.
On the concert ... Elton was awesome. Leon Russell sounded muffled. I honestly couldn't understand a word he was singing. Part of that could have been the acoustics. They WERE terrible. The speakers pointed front and side, but none to the corners ... where I was sitting. For me and my date ... we were very happy to have been there and would go to see an Elton John concert again any time.
Additional note: He really needs to re-issue Rocket Man. His extended version (with the possible exception of the third [and last] movement went a little off the edge) was awesome. I'd pay just to hear that again.

I think Sir Elton and his entourage needs to show up at the protester's church one Sunday morning and have a protest of his own. See how well they like it.

What were they protesting? I don't really follow Sir Elton but can't think of anything he's done that's deserves protesting... [shrug]

What kind of idiot protests Elton John? I could see it if they were boycotting "Tiny Dancer" or anything with KiKi Dee. (Everyone is entitled to a mistake, or two, in their life.)
