I've used iTunes for a while, but now I'm unable to put the music from it onto my new MP3 sunglasses. So, who has suggestions for a free download service that won't try to tie to my phone service?

You can also get a lot of quality indie and small label music from LastFM as well.
BTW, how well do those MP3 sunglasses work for you? I've though about getting a pair for riding. For now, I've bought an armband for my Sansa Fuse, but the earbuds fall our sometimes (I only ever wear one anyway so I can hear the road with my other ear). At least with the sunglasses that won't happen, but I worry about hearing other sounds if you can't take one earpiece out.

Don't know yet. I got them for Xmas but didn't have any music handy to load on them. Today I'd have used them but it's raining, but I did just get some music on them last night from my old personal computer (no iTunes on there).

You can buy digital music on Amazon and it is in the mp3 format which should work on most any device, as well as in itunes. The songs generally cost less than Itunes. The Amazon downloader will automatically load the songs into your itunes library if you want so you can listen on your computer as well as your portable device.
