Is Hank III gonna be there, what about Shooter, Ray Wylie, Levon Helms, or Jamey Johnson? If they're not attending I'll probably notta make it.

Nope you are incorrect. I was there working security that night. She was not beaten at all and she did not die in the hospital. She did die but it was months later due to an illness that cause her to have seizures. The room was a mess and she did have an injury. The messy room at a con who would have thunk it. She had a seizure that cause the injury. I know the rumor mill has gone wild with stories but please do not believe all of them.

No murder. OSRB is correct that she had a seizure at home many months later. There was a great deal of speculation, but in the end no evidence of foul play or assault.

G H B, ( grievous bodily harm, G, liquid ecstasy), popular with the club scene, ingredients normally found in floor strippers and drain cleaners, no one knows for sure how the girl died.

She was a friend of mine, and not here to defend herself against your implications. As such I would ask that any further comments like that be kept to yourself.

Well imagine this scenario.
You've gone to a restaurant for about 20 years. It's been your favorite place to eat, even though the menu has never changed in time you've frequented it. The last few times you've gone to this place, you've noticed that something was wrong with the way they did something and it was putting you off of going back. So you make a couple of suggestions to a manager. They tell you that your opinion doesn't matter and they were going to keep doing what they were doing even though you and other patrons also had expressed problems with the way they were doing business.
What would you do?

Well, the first thing I would do is to actually listen to my patrons and don't tell them that their opinion doesn't mean anything.
One thing convention organizers have to realize is that their con is for the fans and if the fans are not happy and won't show up, then they have no con to promote. I would do what I could do to make the fans happy. I would listen if they weren't happy.

But remember the reason lots of things don't get done is that Chattacon is a Hobby for all of us. A very time consuming Hobby, and sometimes a very expensive hobby. The other reason is Cost. It costs to do cons, hotels, airfare, food, table and chair rental, it all adds up to real money and with the number of unemployed, or under employed in the Chattanooga area we don't have enough money to make every dream come true. If you have suggestions you can make them here, email us on the webpage or come to the meetings. We love input, WE love Ideas, we hate having to say no to an Idea (I hate when its my idea) but money and time kills more projects then any thing else. Glenn

Number one problem for me is the combination of location and date. There may not be a better place that is affordable, but as long as it remains at the Choo Choo in the middle of winter, I'll probably not be back (and that's also one reason why I have yet been to Conooga). The Choo Choo is way too spread out to begin with, couple that with freezing cold, and the last two times I went, rain as well, and it really is hard to have a good time. When I was 20-something and too drunk to notice, it probably wouldn't have bothered me. Nowadays, its a deal breaker.

I will grant you that Worm.. It is cold.. but we had shuttles that ran all weekend.. and once you get to a building.. you could stay there for awhile. The thing about the Choo Choo is that they WANT us to be there.. and rooms are CHEAP... we could not have had Arch Attack at the Read house... and rooms would be $150 a night. We ahve had good weather, bad weather and indifferent. My feet still hurt and I have not had a real nights sleep since the week before the con. As for the trash about Dawn Marie, she died months after chattacon.. I think even a full year. Due to Seisure. Nothing Chattacon related. so just stop that. Mark, share your thoughts.. you know we have always tried to make things better and better every year.. some things are just not possible.. we are not DragonCon.. and we are certainly not Con-Nooga... I have been to a LOT of conventions.. North - South- East and West... Chattacon is a very unique and wonderful thing that I am proud to be a part of.. and I hope 1000 fans agree... I had fun last weekend.. that is all I can hope for for all of you guys too! Please send us sugestions.. or better yet.. come to a meeting and talk to us!! Things have changed DRASTICALLY in the last 3-4 years.
