From chattanoogan.com:
"Police said a thief ran out of the K-Mart on Highway 58 with a valuable piece of jewelry.
Store officials said a video of the incident shows a black male go to the jewelry department and ask to see a 10K gold bridal set with a 12-carat Princess cut diamond.
He paused, then ran out the door holding the set.
He was seen getting into a green Ford Explorer driven by a black female. The tag was from an address in Memphis."
One web site offers a 12-carat diamond ring for sale at $1,181,979. Apparently, Kmart keeps the price down by mounting it in "10K gold".
I have a whole new respect for Kmart!

I may be a bit of a sceptic, but I have a hard time believing KMart would have in stock a rock worth more than a KMart store. IMO a 10K CZ is too upscale for a KMart. I may believe a 10K rhinestone, but that's about it.

I don't know much about jewelry, but I suspect that a 12 carat diamond would not be mounted in 10K gold. Unless, of course, we were shopping with "our friend in the jewelry business."

I wonder what K Mart was asking for this ring.
