(from an e-mail) The Judiciary Committee passed Senate Joint Resolution 127 this week on a party-line vote. The resolution would remove the state constitutional protections to an abortion in Tennessee, even though the federal protections would still be in place. If approved this session by a two-thirds majority in each chamber, the resolution would be placed on the ballot in 2014. It would then require a simple majority of those casting a gubernatorial ballot. For more on how the Senate Democratic Caucus is fighting for Tennesseans, visit tnsenatedems.com/

I know you wrote "from an email", but it couldn't been too hard to find an actual article about it. I'll try to dig one up.

Here ya go. www.factn.org/SJR127.htmMuch less scary sounding. If approved by voters, would return the TN constitution to a neutral stance on abortion. Not guaranteeing the right to one(Federal law does), but not denying either. EVERYBODY PANIC! Now I need to go see how this is the democrats fault since the republicans are in complete control of Tennessee government.

The sugary drinks tax would reduce the tax on everything else by 1% and would be revenue neutral. Everyone who doesn't buy sodas would get a tax break, but hey we need to drink em up so we can stay in the top three fattest states in the union.
Oh, and the bill was sponsored by a single democrat. So yea, "The DemonKraps" are trying to raise taxes.

I thought it was funny to see the words work and Democrats used in the same sentence.

Fox, where will it stop if you tax sugar? The fact is that the demoncrats want to tax everything and spend it on thier pet projects instead of cutting acak on thier spending habits. Fox, the tax will not reduce anything. In fact it will increase taxes as it has been tried in other states with the same results.

Democrats (Not working and have never been a victim)? Republicans (working and were Democrats before they were mugged)? Abortion? Pro-Life? Law? Lawyers? Apathetic voters, who fail to take the time to actually VOTE and then whine about the decisions subsequently made by their elected 'leaders'? Judges, and legislators, who are lawyers and who make 'law'? Judges (more lawyers) and juries (Made up of people who actually voted and/or paid taxes) who are not lawyers and weren't smart enough to get out of jury duty) interpreting said law? I think plumbers would make better 'law" since they are better equipped to deal with vast amounts of sewage, like, daily, all day. That being said, if Duke decides to become a plumber, AD (After Disbarment), we are really, really, really (Really) fixing to be screwed. (Cue the gynecologists/proctologists/social workers/media people/ Duke... {those that failed pre-law and were forced to change majors their junior year}) But they can always pass a law agi'nst* it. Did I mention that Shakespeare may have had it right? *(Or put up some signs, or such.)
