Burn Season Extended for Residents in Unincorporated Hamilton County with Storm Debris
Chattanooga, Tenn. – May 2, 2011 - The Chattanooga-Hamilton County Air Pollution Control Bureau has extended the burning season for residents in unincorporated Hamilton County directly affected by the recent severe weather.
Residents may burn brush, clean, raw, untreated, unmanufactured wood in piles no larger than 12 foot by 12 foot by 12 foot. No other materials may be burned.
A special storm debris permit must be obtained before burning. This permit is free of charge.
Residents who already have a burn permit may use that permit as their “storm” permit. The burning status will be available daily after 8:30 a.m. on the Bureau information line at 423-643-5971 or on our website at www.pollutionsolution.org
The cities of Chattanooga, Collegedale, East Ridge, and Red Bank will continue their brush pick-up service. For more information contact your local municipality.
