John Bridger Shares Plans for Chattanooga Region

Bring your lunch and join us for another exciting Choose Chattanooga partner event.
John Bridger, Executive Director with the Regional Planning Agency, will present an overview of several key planning projects underway in Chattanooga including the Regional Growth Plan, Transit Development Plan, the Stringer’s Ridge-Moccasin Bend Gateway Study, and the Bonny Oaks Corridor Plan.
Mr. Bridger will share how these projects will guide the future transformation of our community and how you can get involved in the process.
Mr. Bridger started his career with the Regional Planning Agency in the early 1990’s [sic] during the beginning stages of Chattanooga’s transformation.
During his initial 10 year tenure with the Regional Planning Agency, he worked with community stakeholders to create a variety of plans and tools including: Highland Park Neighborhood Plan, Chattanooga Landscape Ordinance, Hamilton Place Community Plan, North River Community Plan and the Northshore Design Review District.
In 2001, Mr. Bridger took a position with Community Impact to assist the organization in its efforts to revitalize distressed urban neighborhoods surrounding downtown. During his 9 years of service with Community Impact, 5 neighborhoods were significantly revitalized including: Southside, M.L. King, Highland Park, Bushtown, and Glenwood.
In the Fall of 2010, Mr. Bridger was hired as Executive Director of the Regional Planning Agency where he has served for the past 8 months.
