Just thought an obligatory thread on missy's ongoing work accomplishments would be fun. Thread will be updated everytime she does something for the city.
This week, she is taking credit for the Samuel L. Jackson painting.
She has also... err... umm... crap, I guess I didn't think this through. Anyone else know of anything she's done?

I saw a guy that looked an awful lot like Samuel Jackson on Carta the other day.

From what I've heard/read about him, being seen on a carta bus is not out of the question. I don't know all the facts but the writing on the building next to his portrait is of a vein that Chattanooga pissed on him in some way. The portrait is kindof an apology, begging forgiveness. So being seen on a bus is possible, being seen IN chattanooga is less possible. [shrug]

There's less snakes on busses...
I don't know what his deal is either. Seems him and usher both disowned the city once fame kicked in. As long as Mr. B, Ralphie May, and that short guy with the squeaky voice sticks around, alls well with me.

Well, he looked younger than 60 and older than 30, beyond that I couldn't say. It just made me smile and think of snakes on a bus.

He graduated from Riverside High School in the mid 60s. Do you remember what Chattanooga was like when he would have lived here? I doubt you will find many black men who grew up here then that have fond memories of the city, much less black men who went on to become active in the Black Power movement. I love Chattanooga to death but our civil rights record has not been stellar.

If you haven't figured it out by now, not only is your city a crime ridden cesspool, it smells like shit downtown and you hate black people, as evidenced by Fred Skillern and Red Neck Rhonda. That's why the brothers that gain sucess get the Eff out and never look back. Can't blame them.

Every city has had "issues" with bigots in high places probably always will.
The story I heard was after success, Mr Jackson offered to take part in some kind of event through chattanooga theater. They told him no.
He hasn't offered or visited the city since.
