I look pretty young, but I'm just back-dated.

This morning, I pulled into the Kanku's at the corner of Dodds & 23rd because I needed gas and was pleased to see $3.49 advertised as the price. I had nearly filled my tank when I saw a sticker saying "100% pure gasoline" over the yellow 87-octane slot in the center, from which the fuel was pumping into my car. 100% gasoline is better than ethanol, I suppose, though I've never noticed any particular difference. Today, however, I did notice a difference. The "pure" gasoline is $3.69 a gallon, and the cheap stuff that I was going for was behind a red 87-octane card on the far right, where the premium stuff usually comes from. I was NOT happy at all. See illustration: This is the first time I've encountered this, but you can bet I'll be much more observant in the future. Just a heads-up that some stations are pulling this kind of crap. Don't let it happen to you.

Midinght oil does the same thing. The gas in the pipeline right now cost stations on average. 3.22 a gallon. Expect a 75 cent decrease over the next few weeks..

On a brighter note, if you're in wal-mart and plan on buying gas before you leave the property, buy a gift card.
if you buy gas with a gift card its normally 3 cents cheaper, right now they're having a "roll back" so gas is 10 cents cheaper. Doesn't help much but every penny and all that.
