I need mulch, and plenty of it. Problem is, I don't have a truck. This week I don't even have a car so going to pick it up myself isn't an option.
So, anyone know a source for disease free mulch that's not over expensive?

There's a place in Dalton about a mile north of the Rocky Face exit on 41 on the right. Damn good mulch. About $20 a pickup truck load.

Camp jordan has free mulch. I've used it several times over the years and never had any problems.

Jackie Evans in Cleveland has mulch and I think they also deliver. The delivery is va dump truck. Don't know if you need that much.

Chattanooga gives out free mulch too. You need a truck though.

thank you rstewart, do you have a number for them?
Let me repeat, I don't have a truck to go pick up free mulch with. I don't have a CAR handy to go pick up free or at cost mulch. I require delivery.

I was thinking like JC but of all the people reading this that DO have trucks. She's offering to PAY to have it delivered so you could make a little cash money and help out a girl... win win.

I need a truck. A diesel 150 with tow package.
*sigh*
I just can't afford a new truck. Eventually I'll start searching for a used one that's not too pricey.

Bet you will have a HARD time finding a 1/2 ton diesel pickup. 3/4 or ton truck, not so much but certainly to find a 1/2 ton with a diesel is very difficult.

I'd imagine so. Then again, the diesel part isn't necessary, just would make it better. Pretty isn't even necessary. Sturdy, steady and not requiring a how helluva lot of mechanical help to keep running is necessary, and tow-capable with a nice ugly bed for hauling crap.
I'm no judge of trucks though. Always had sedans. Truck would be for hauling. I'm finding more and more often I could use something for hauling.

Not very many 1/2 ton trucks were made with diesel engines. Until very recently, say 2005 they were almost impossible to find unless it was one of those pieces of shit that GM put out in the 70's which were gas engines converted to run diesel. AVOID those like the plague.
Unless you are going to be pulling HEAVY loads I'd suggest gas rather than diesel. Less expensive all the way around and fuel is readily available. I have 2 trucks, one a full size chevy and the other a toyota 4 dr 4x4. Both are good trucks but the Toyota just can't carry much in that little bed.

It'd also be towing a horse trailer.

Ah, the sport of kings. And I know why it's called that!!!!
If you go with a Ford try to ensure it's not one with the shitty tranny, which goes out at about 150K and cost like $3500 to fix. I don't remember the years but early 2000's if I recall correctly. Good Luck.

Geez, maybe I should get you to find it for me:-D You're obviously far more familiar than my vague "truck: at least 150 size, cheap, reliable."
I'll call that number you sent me later today. I already sent a message to the link Bob provided.

A nice young fellow at Ace agreed to drop off some mulch for me. Since I can't get the tiller started though, reckon I have to change plans on where I putting these plants. Good thing I've a BACKUP PLAN!
