Freedom Walk 2011 Hosted at Camp Jordan Park in East Ridge
East Ridge, Tenn. - The City of East Ridge joins Operation Homefront Tennessee/Kentucky in supporting military families. To acknowledge the 10th Anniversary of September 11, Operation Homefront TN/KY is hosting Freedom Walk 2011, at Camp Jordan Park in East Ridge on Sunday, September 11.
Throughout the country on September 11, citizens will gather to walk together as a nation uniting communities behind a commitment to never forget the lives lost in the attacks on the United States on September 11, 2001. Camp Jordan is one of 33 sites across the country selected to host a Freedom Walk.
Details of the Freedom Walk are as follows:
Date: Sunday, September 11, 2011
Event Time: 8:30am to 2:30pm
Location: Camp Jordan Park, East Ridge Tennessee
Ceremony: 9:30am
Walk: Approx 11am

Freedom Walk is open to all interested walkers regardless of policy or political views.
Operation Homefront provides emergency financial and other assistance to the families of service members and wounded warriors. The organization was founded by military wives, former military members and patriotic volunteers in San Diego in 2002. It has since grown into a major national nonprofit with 23 chapters supported by more than 4,500 volunteers. Since its inception, Operation Homefront has provided more than $100 million dollars of funding to programs to benefit military families.
