I think I may finally be stepping up into the 21st century by getting a smartphone. Our company uses AT&T service, so it will be one of theirs, but they carry most of them.
I was wanting to get some feedback on the various phones. Ones you like, as well as ones to stay away from. I'm leaning towards the Samsung Infuse right now just because I like the big screen and how thin it is. I realize the large screen is a bigger target for breakage, but I like it and it has an 8MP camera with LED flash.
Suggestions?

I'm using the Blackberry 9800 Torch with AT&T and I'm very pleased with it. I put it in an Otter Box and carry it in my pants pocket with no damage yet. I've had this since November 2010. Blackberry has fewer apps available to it but I've not been in a situation where an app wasn't available to do what I needed on the BB. The BB Torch isn't all that thin (it packs a keyboard beneath the sliding screen) but that hasn't been a problem for me. The screen seems adequate for my purposes. It has a multi-touch touchscreen and is 3G and WiFi enabled. Battery life is good. I've gone a couple of days using it fairly heavy between charges. The camera resolution is 5MP with a flash. The 4G version of this phone is available from AT&T now for under $50.

JiT, That's the phone my wife has, and she also likes it a lot. Has to charge it every evening though. I understand with any of these phones that extended battery life is not to be expected.

I have a BlackBerry 9630, It's ok I suppose. I detest trying to talk on the thing. Without a Bluetooth it's VERY difficult to hear. I've had this one for about 2 years now. On my 3rd Blackberry and overall I'm satisfied with them. I would really prefer a regular phone but Uncle Kieren says no I have to have a "smartphone" so I have a smart phone.

I love my droid from Verizon. However, because there are so many bells and whistles on it, it must be charged nightly.

I can't get a Droid phone since I am forced to use an AT&T phone, but the Infuse uses the Android software. I'm beginning to think Blackberry or Infuse.

I have the Motorola BackFlip...Droid platform from AT&T. Love it. Only drawback is it is a bit low on internal memory.
