Octobers photo safari is 10/17 and I need a place, local to host it. the "forgotten cemetery" has a chain across the entrance now so I need a Halloween(ish) place to have it. Photo safari is the third monday of every month at seven pm. Where changes each month. Safari (go into the jungle and shoot stuff) was created for camera geeks to hang out and talk shop. We have grown to include video geeks and people who's passion is on the other side of the camera. ** this is from the last safari ** If anyone wants to join all you need is a love for the art of photography or video, either side of the camera. OK that said, I NEED a location anybody got any ideas?

Even with creepy shots being my thing, I haven't found a wealth of great places in Chattanooga, especially one to do a big shoot at. I'll think on it some more. Unfortunately, I'll be in California during this one and will miss out.. boo!

How about the Confederate Cemetery out Lee Highway next to the Harley Dealer. Great history and kinda dark and creepy at night. Also Forrest Hills. Not very creepy but has some interesting stones and statues that should photograph well at night.

Looks like I'm going to have the safari at the White Oak Cemetery. Its just about the only one not locked at dark.

Bob, From experience.
#1 Notify cemetery office your plans to be there and date. Getting permission should not be a problem. BUT before posting any photos you need to edit/blur the names on head stones out of respect for the families. They will ask this.
#2 Notify Red Bank Police Dept. you have permission to be there after dark. Good form to call them when you leave too. This will reduce some hassles beforehand.
Heads up: After dark photos around the arch up on the hill tend to have "unexplained" mists and lighting bolts that were not present at time of exposure.

The blur names thing is a standard request at all the cemeteries. JC: red bank, by the duck pond.
