The Tivoli is a great historic theater that needs some love. Love costs a lot of money though. The Tennessee Theater in Knoxville underwent an amazing renovation back in 2003 that cost nearly $30 million. They also had similar issues with smaller seats and when they installed new, larger, seats they lost 400 in capacity (went from 2000 to 1,600). The same can be done here, but tax payers would be up in arms over it (think about the blue rhino) and the Tivoli would need to be used more to make it truly worthwhile. Here is a picture of the renovated Tennessee Theater.

It's truly a jem, something of which Kville is justly proud.

The Tivoli is a wonderful venue. I would have very much enjoyed working there in my younger, theater driven days. The very first show we saw here we purchased seats in the balcony which we have never done again. I have not encountered an uncomfortable seat in the orchestra at all.
