OK I was raised if a man offers to shake hands and his grip is that of a princess, he looses man points.
Today I shook hands with a woman in a professional setting. My first thought was "should I shake this hand or kiss it?". She is a professional, not somebody's wife (she is but the introduction was professional) so should when a man offers to shake hands should she shake hands firmly or offer her hand like a princess?? If so should the man shake hands firmly, being careful not to break it, or kiss it?

I think a woman deserves a nice firm handshake just the same as a man. Firm, not a bone crusher but not a limp fish.

Women are to advance at no less than a 45 degree angle, curtsey, then proceed in the ceremonial fashion, preferably on their knees.

I can't stand that limpid handshake so many southern women use. I'll take a firm handshake thankyouverymuch.

I have big hands, so I can completely envelop the lady's hand and see how she shakes and respond accordingly.
