Found out last week MIL has stage 4 cancer and has anywhere from 1-6 months to live. She lived in Ohio but is on her way down here today. Does anyone know of a good oncologist in the Chattanooga area and anything about hospice, how it works, etc.
Appreciate any and all replies in advance.

I'm so sorry to hear this Frayne. Contact the MaryEllen Locher Breast Center at Memorial. They can help you and your family with referrals. As far as Hospice care, I can not sing the praises high enough for Dr. Terry Melvin and her staff at Hospice of Chattanooga. I know other hospice care groups here are good also, but I unfortunately have had personal experience too many times with Dr. Melvin and Chattanooga Hospice. They do provide service also in the North Georgia area.

I totally agree with Tookie. Dr Melvin is fantastic. Can't go wrong with Hospice of Chattanooga.

Terry Melvin is great! Happened to sit next to a hospice worker tonight. Call - 892-4289 and ask for a contact or appointment. Good luck! Thinking of you.
