I just talked to one of my single mom friends, she is heating her house with a wood stove. Does anyone have any firewood they are willing to donate to her?
(she just recently moved into it due to loosing her "other" house)

After April's storms, there should not be a shortage of firewood (although it's usually best to let it age for a year, 8 months may be long enough for some of the smaller trees.)

She can come pick up some Bradford Pear here any time. I've a good bit that's aged for a looong time.
Not the most efficient (that would be oak) for heating a house, but it's free.

It's cut, not split. Some additional work may be necessary.

Most all the wood from the storms if not scarfed up by the wood vultures is mulch buried at Birchwood landfill.
FEMA dollars at work I tell ya.

Bob, if someone can get a pick up truck, I don't have one. A+ Pallets (3379 Old Tasso Road Northeast Cleveland, TN 37312-5722 (423) 478-2663) stacks broken pallett wood out front, free for the taking, sometimes there are two or three truck loads for the taking, great for kindling or for fuel when bigger logs are not available.

Just saw an ad in craigslist that said would pay you to take it. Would have my doubts about that one, but there are others listed as weel that say just come and get it.

I've still got plenty of downed limbs and such behind my property from a neighbors yard that they refuse to do anything about. Anyone with a truck and a chainsaw is welcome to come harvest all the firewood they want.

I have a large tree branch (as big as a tree) that has been aging in the back part of my yard for over a year. If she'd like to come & get it, I'm happy for her to have it.

Coperhead, just post here after you've cut it into fireplace length pieces. No need to split it, she can do that.

I'd cut up the fallen tree in my yard, but apparently no one believes it is a good thing to entrust me with a chainsaw.
I wonder why that is...
