When I saw Yoda's "carrying" poll, the first thing that came to mind was "packin heat"... since his writing instrument left that question unanswered, I though I would ask this one. Answer 7 and 8 can be answered as 2nd option.

When I go to Anchorage or out into the woods I carry. Here in town I feel safe.
When I lived Outside, I was armed 24/7.

I do not like leaving my firearm in my vehicle and work in places that do not allow it carried on my person so I do not carry my gun(s) as often as I would like. That being said I am also never 'unarmed' I do have a permit

I don't have a permit and I usually aren't carrying.... or am I? The permit is on my list of things to get. I just haven't had the time to stop my the courthouse and apply or stop by the police department to get the background check started. Carry permits in Georgia are too cheap and too easy to obtain not to get one.

I have a permit and carry most of the time.I usually carry an RG .22 revolver and back it up with a gold plated .50 AE Desert Eagle.

My job does not allow me to carry either in the vehicle when working or inside the office.
*grumble*
I used to always have a firearm in my car. Now, not so much.

Hopefully, legislative relief is on the way for those in your situation.
Your employer's liability concerns should not dictate your level of personal safety.

that bill got put on hold until next year pending review. something about infringing on property owners rights. the problem that it creates for the employees is that they are now left with no means of defense because the weapon is not allowed to be secured inside the car. so they are forced to go unarmed during the commute. i dont think anyone should be able to dictate what you keep in your vehicle anywhere as long as it is nothing illegal. TN just added this year that the car is an extension of your domain, so what the hell is the problem?
government red tape.

In my case, it's because we use our personal vehicle to drive to location with clients and vendors that are not within the office. It came up when one of the construction workers got a gun out of his vehicle and threatened a dog with it. Apparently, that rattled the client and vendors. Now, we can't carry in our cars.

all it takes is one asshole to ruin it for others. on a side note, did the dog give up his wallet without any further delay? LMAO
edit: are you then compensated for using your personal vehicle for business uses? that is a tax deduction i do believe.

LOL
No, there was a dog on site that apparently growled and threatened. The construction manager pulled his gun. I wasn't there, I don't know what happened after that, just that no one was bitten, the construction manager was fired for carrying a weapon on company time and we all got updated by corporate that we're not allowed to carry a firearm in our vehicle when going to or from work or a job site.

i have been watching the house as they kick gun bills back and forth, and some of it is comical, some of it is BS. it is still mostly BS. they are scared of stepping on toes.
one thing that did pass, and im wondering how LEO will see it, before, gun permit or not, it was illegal to transport a hunting rifle (shotgun or bolt action) with ammo in the same area. like the shotgun in its case in the back seat, ammo in the front seat. that was deemed under old law as a loaded weapon. kinda dumb huh?
well after almost every rep admitted to doing that and not knowing it was breaking the law, they changed it to anyone with a valid gun permit can have a loaded long gun in the car. IE shotgun, M4A1, bolt action .308, what ever suits your fancy.
i was just wondering how many maniacs you all have stopped that had loaded shotguns and what not. im sure it hasnt just pertained to handguns only.

I find it not a good idea to tell if I carry and if so, when. Let's just let the bad guys take a gamble. "Do ya feel lucky? Punk? Well, do ya?"
But, like FunGrrl, even if I'm not packing, I'm NOT unprotected.

After being mugged at gun point in down town Chattanooga I decided to get my carry license. It is something I hope I never have to use but I look at like insurance. I rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it. I do carry most of the time and have different pistols depending on how I am dressed.

Well Shooter, if anyone thinks my admission re: job related rules means they can assume I'm not armed and dangerous....
well lets just say there's at least one officer here that's seen evidence of my penchant for civil disobedience when it comes to certain laws, rules and regulations.
(he thought it was *pretty* too)

I will admit i have done this myself but found that I am not a restful sleeper. I would recommend that you find a way to attach the holster to the mattress within reach. WK you do not have to be armed to be dangerous.

but **some** of them would make for fun "recreation" when you're not in danger.... ( did I just say that ??)
The "dangerous" part is given (but some of us know how sweet you can be, which is off the charts)
You girl are smart enough to learn how to "use" most anything.
I can see the same thing (about the dog) happening to you and you looking at the owner of the dog and asking "do you like this dog??" [grin]
personally I don't carry a gun.. but.... **shifty glance**
