A 25-year-old mother of four has been missing for five months. Investigators are searching for clues in her disappearance. Erica Whaley was last seen getting into a red truck at a shelter for battered women. Whaley's mother and sister are speaking out, asking for the public's help in finding her. They say 25-year-old Erika Whaley has been known to "do her own thing," going off on her own for periods of time. But they say she always maintained contact with them. Yeah, being last seen getting into a pickup truck with an unknown person at a battered women's shelter does tend to lead one to expect the worse. Looking at the comments on the news article Gary linked to and reading this article about the case I'm expecting all sorts of speculation and rumors to crop up before we get word back from the autopsy on cause of death.

I'm wondering why the family wouldn'tthink to check the grandfather's abandoned property. I would look EVERYWHERE that was familiar to a missing loved one FIRST, and then look in less likely places. Unfortunate loss for the family if this is the missing woman.
