The Chattanooga Community Kitchen is celebrating 30 years of feeding the hungry. It was founded by seven downtown churches. One of which, Christ Church, decided to celebrate the anniversary by serving sack lunches what the kitchen served when it first began. The Community Kitchen usually serves hot meals, but because of work on the floor, they were unable to do that. www.wrcbtv.com/story/16958571/community-kitchen-celebrates-30-years

30 years of enabling. You'd think they'd have THOUSANDS of succuess stories about how they got people off the streets, into affordable housing and set up with some sustainable employment. Sadly, they've mostly payrolled a director and some part time workers.

Quite a blighted attitude. But don't you prefer this to a government program?

And, they still haven't started organizing a daily "police detail" to get those people to pick up the trash around their building while they're waiting for their buffet. Enabling, indeed.

I see Community Kitchen people daily. Many of them have found medical care, jobs, and more permanent housing. They are not just about a "buffet".
