The Hamilton County Council of PTAs is seeking donations for the Teacher Supply Depot for its next "Teacher Shopping Day" which will be Saturday, February 25th. Hamilton County public school teachers who are members of a Hamilton County public school PTA can "shop for free" at the Depot. Many students cannot afford to buy school supplies, and many teachers use their own money to help their students. The Teacher Supply Depot helps take the financial burden off public school teachers, by helping them stock their classrooms. "It's regrettable that our public schools don't receive sufficient funding to provide the basics for classroom learning", says Tom Edd Wilson, president of the Chattanooga Area Chamber of Commerce. "One way we can help overcome this deficit is by supporting the Depot where teachers can obtain classroom supplies free of charge." All donations are tax deductible, and businesses can donate any time of year. www.wrcbtv.com/story/16973833/teacher-supply-depot-looking-for-community-donations
