A large area of high pressure will continue to expand across the Tennessee Valley over the next couple days, stabilizing the atmosphere and producing near record highs as winter officially ends on the calendar. As the high pressure sits over the region, ample sunshine will allow temperatures to reach the mid-80s in valley neighborhoods, upper 70s to near 80 for most higher elevations. Here is what to expect for Chattanooga compared to the normals and records (with year record was set). Monday Prediction : 84 Record : 86 (1982) Normal : 65 Tuesday Prediction : 84 Record : 85 (1948) Normal : 65 Spring officially starts at 1:14 a.m. Tuesday, EDT. www.wrcbtv.com/story/17185897/near-record-heat-possible-next-two-days
