Ron Powers places 2nd in a preferential poll for General Sessions Court Judge conducted by the Chattanooga Bar Association. Ron received three times more votes than the closest candidate under him. Ron received 62 votes - 24.6 percent Joe DeGaetano 21 - 8.3 percent Gary Starnes 19 - 7.5 percent Valerie Epstein 7 - 2.8 percent Patricia Best Vital 6 - 2.4 percent Yolanda Mitchell 4 - 1.6 percent Ron is the only candidate listed in Best Lawyers since 2010 which is the oldest and most highly-respected peer review guide to the legal profession worldwide. He is also the only candidate invited to join the Chattanooga Chapter of the American Inns of Court which is an amalgam of judges and trial lawyers looking to rise to higher levels of excellence, professionalism, and ethical awareness. Ron is one of 120 lawyers and judges who are members of the local Inn of Court. Ron's 2nd place finish in the Bar poll shows that he has the respect and high regard of lawyers in Chattanooga and is the most qualified, experienced and viable Sessions Judge candidate alternative to David Norton. Letting lawyers pick their own judges is like chickens picking their favorite fox.
IT'S NOT A FRIGGIN' POPULARITY CONTEST

Travel Girl, You are VERY Unethical. I have noticed this in Ron Power's campaign. Shame on you for leaving off the first place winner from the poll, which was David Norton in the list you posted. I guess you tear down campaign signs, too ;D www.chattanoogan.com/2012/5/7/225531/David-Norton-Wins-Lawyer-Poll-On.aspxSecondly, there are 1200 attorneys in Chattanooga, 700 or so are members of the Bar Association, and only 232 participated in this attorney poll. This is the same Chattanooga Bar Association that CHRONICALLY gave Judge Bob Moon very high UNSATISFACTORY votes, and the PUBLIC continued to elect Judge Bob Moon regardless of what the Chattanooga Bar Association thought. I have a list, but here is one for example. www.chattbar.org/downloads/BiennialJudicialPollofDecember312007.pdfSecondly, Ron Powers is employed by the second Largest law firm in Chattanooga, Baker Donelson. The Chattanooga Bar Association is controlled by the largest law firms in Chattanooga, Miller and Martin, Chamliss Bonner Stopelel, and Baker Donelson. In summary, the votes of 232 lawyers from the biggest firms in Chattanooga has never had any impact on election outcomes. Ron Powers should plan on running again in 2014.

Bob Moon was a great man. Travel girl did leave out some information. I thought that looked odd.
