Finally! A Superintendent with cojones! Anyone read the letter that he wrote to that Principal on Signal Mountain? Even with grammatical and typographical errors (probably in the transcription, not in the original letter) it was great. The HCDE needs a lot of "fixing"; we may finally have the person to do it.

Tom McCullough is one of the finest and best men I've ever known. With forty years, that's FORTY YEARS, in local education--that, I would add, without a SCENT of controversy or scandal--his ability, character, and qualifications FAR outstrip that of the appointed doxy of the current chairman of the board. McCullough's shortcomings with regard to the current matter would better be described as "benevolent indifference" occasioned by his TRUSTING NATURE toward subordinates more fit to manage Beavis and Butthead rather than the current crop of entitled ingenues we wistfully describe as "children".
Rick Smith can go to HELL. And not a current member of this Board will EVER get the vote of any of my family.

Pictureman; Channel 3 WRCB is the only news site with the actual letter posted. The other media outlets had to transcribe it from them.

I just read the latest news story. Apparently, you are all correct. This gentleman must be above the regulations. I'll take back what I said about "cojones".

You know Rhonda is really upset with this flip-flop...I guess requiring PHD for the top job isn't a bad Idea afterwards. Seem to get more proffesional canidates who learn to stick with their decisions regardless of the outcomes. Just good old fashion savvy

HQ jr. just bit off more than he could chew--that's what a career in "maintenance" prepares one for, so they can retire and try to cut their teeth on their betters who never supported Daddy.
