Stuart James former Hamilton County Democrat Party Chairman stated that the local Dem. Party leaders are planning to run Ward Crutchfield for City Council. As I am understanding, he plans to run for the seat vacated by Andrae McGary.

I know Stuart James to be a truthful individual, and I believe him.
Ward Crutchfield was the only TN Waltzer not to serve a day in prison. The Judge exempted him from prison due to medical testimony about Crutchfield's illness.
Crutchfield immediately returned to politics, and worked the local campaign of Kenny Smith for Hamilton County Commission in 2010. I personally witnessed Crutchfield with Kenny Smith working the East Ridge area.
Fortunately, the voters of East Ridge responded to this appropriately and elected Tim Boyd. Smith's campaign was heavily funded, and he lost. Proud day for the voters. Mr. Smith's alliance with Crutchfield with more than a little distaste for the voters.
I saw Crutchfield at Nikis living it up after his 6 months house arrest. It seems his illness miraculously resolved itself, just in time to miss prison, hehe
Of course, While under house arrest for public corruption from January 2008 to Jun 2008, Ward Crutchfield was writing checks from this campaign fund balance to the campaign of Councilman Andrae McGary (May 1, 2008) listed in the financial disclosures below (Page 2: 7-14-2009 Disclosure). Very well documented fact, not allegation. The campaign financial disclosures are attached. Crutchdfield was writing checks to local campaigns (Tommie Brown, McGary, et al) from his Senate fund balance while under house arrest.

Our theory is that Andrae McGary did not quit his only paying job in radio to run for a State Senate seat that he knows he will not win. I believe that the future Administration will have a spot reserved for McGary. It will be interesting to see if Berke allows the Crutchfield corruption to increase in our local government, or holds it at bay.
Until then, I don't know if I should laugh at the idea of Crutchfield for city council, or be concerned for Chattanooga.
