CHATTANOOGA — Mayor Ron Littlefield and several City Council members were stunned Tuesday night when they found out that not all city employees received an "across-the-board" pay raise. "This is the first I've heard of this situation, so I'll have to see how many people were affected," Littlefield told the council. The issue came up at the conclusion of the council's regular business meeting Tuesday night. Stephen West, steward of Service Employees International Union Local 205 and a city Public Works employee, told the council that those employees who had topped out in their pay grade received no 3 percent raise this year. www.timesfreepress.com/news/2012/jul/25/chattanooga-city-workers-not-getting-a-raise/

How could any administrator formulate a pay raise plan of millions, and miss this one? It is just horrible that everyone gets a raise but fire and police. An education plan for new police officers is not a raise, but our inept city council bought into it, like they have followed all that is Littlefield. Now, they Whoops and miss public works? When is organized labor SEIU, IBEW, and yes when are my friends going to get a clue that the Council members they throw PAC money at in $5,000 increments are not friends of organized labor. Look at their voting record, it speaks volumes. Pam Ladd, Carol Berz ain't friends of fire and police. Cut um off, stop giving them money. Wake up and smell the fumes of parked police cars and the NO raise they just got. The voting record actually indicates that Deborah Scott has voted with police and fire more than the recipients of the PAC money. Someone please tell Kenny Smith, to keep his IBEW busy body self in private contracts, because they have no real business with the city of any consequence, and to stop acting like a King Maker with the PAC Cashola. Never mind, I will. There, I feel better.:-)

I tried to warn people about Berz a long time ago, but it got lost in the howling anti-Marti winds of that time.
LOOK at what her District's become, tells you a LOT about any constituency that'd vote for her.

Ladd and Berz have not supported labor at all. They have been the biggest slashers of benefits following right along with Benson, Robinson,....and all. For instance, they voted to charge for police cars, to exempt Lt and above from overtime so they are Not getting paid for court appearances on their off days, to cut health insurance....
IBEW does not have a valid reason to give such large amounts of campaign cash to Ladd and Berz, they do not have big contracts with the City, so they need to stay the H out of it. SEIU is way to forgiving, and should not give Berz or Ladd a nickel for their ruthless cuts to labor. It makes alot of sense to say to IBEW and SEIU Nashville, and say, "hey, these people are stripping benefits, STOP funding them."
